Limp Paper Binding

Based on the structure of the limp vellum binding, this model is instead covered in a heavyweight flax paper. This structure is very durable and strong, providing cover attachment through lacing in the sewing supports and ties rather than using adhesives. Because of its durability and longevity (as seen in the numerous bindings that survived the Florence flood of 1966), the structure has become very popular for modern conservation use as a conservation binding.
